Re: The Tiger stowage bin
I heard a tale about the padlocks on 131's storage bin were original German WWII ones and the were lucky to find that the bin was not locked with them.
Re: The Tiger stowage bin
yep thats correct mate, but when the tiger is being displayed inside the museum they try and remember not to put the locks on, as people try to erm! have a closer look at them, ( if you know what i mean )
Re: The Tiger stowage bin
Thanks Oz

Re: The Tiger stowage bin
like Tony said they are the original locks, me and nigel were told this when we went to a lecture on the Tiger at salisbury college the guy who runs the bovvy workshops was giving the lecture, and thats one of a few interesting facts he told us about 131, another is its mpg 6 gallons to the mile!!!, and the 88 is in full working order.
rob if you can replicate them clasps you could sell them, and make some money to buy more tanks ::)

you might be able to use these as-well.......
Re: The Tiger stowage bin
Don't forget to add the Aber etched set of padlocks for the bin too, they would look great on there.
