I hear you on the gearbox issue in your Walker. I am putting together a StuG using a resin aftermarket kit and standard height gearboxes won't cut it. I thought about cutting down the mounting plates but even if so, would have run into the same issue as you with the motor being the next to impinge. There are low profile gearboxes out there (probably) on those same German sites that you mentioned. The same gearboxes will work for a number of vehicles with the defining characteristic being the length of the drive shaft to sprocket. If you are working with RCTank.de, call Dominique up and he will work with you to get the right size gearbox for your Walker. Good luck and have fun! It's what it is supposed to be about.
