That might work too but I think timing might be an issue. The MFU might have problem firmg and receiving IR at the same time. I know that for example you can't shoot yourself so to speak with your own IR emitter if you aim it at the receiver.

That would be the logical conclusion but it does sound funny. I know for a fact that I cannot use the IR emitter from the same tank and try to fire it to test the receiver ....... Time to try it again.
