I've considered getting a couple 1/24th scale tanks but 1/72 would be the size of a Matchbox car!

Jack,
I've built a couple of 1/72 scale kits for research on the RC tanks and yessir, they fry my eyes. Anymore, I order them from outfits like Ground Power, already assembled so I can test different paint schemes on them. Alpha, not all of the 1/72 scale RC tanks from Japan looked out of scale . Here is one from Doyusha ( I believe ) that is a very good looking RC Tiger1 in 1/72. These little tanks usually run great for the first year or so then the battery's number of recharges is exceeded or the recharge base breaks a wired connection or in the case of my 1/144 scale King Tiger, the rubber tracks aged quickly and snapped and no replacements were to be found. I'm definitely sticking to 1/16 and above now. Even with 1/24 scale VS tanks or Tokyo Marui, the upgrades available are few in number.

Painless

I'm actually tempted to get a few if they're reasonably priced, just because they're quite cute.

Jack,
That Tiger1 is some 10 years old and was manufactured not by Doyusha but by Dragon. Here is a current link to one of them on Ebay. Very good starting price too. They originally sold for 59.00 U.S.

Yeah I remember that Tiger Painless...I didn't have one...but a friend of mine had it...quite well built if I remember right...but he had lost the controller and it was basically a shelf queen :haha: ...I would say that was the exception as far as the 1/72nds went... Shermans looked fat ;) ..and the T34s just looked dorky :wtf:

Painless, thanks man! Not sure I want a "used" one off of ebay and I can't seem to find a new one so I guess I'm not getting one. :haha:

Maybe I'll just get that 1/24th scale King Tiger I've been looking at.

Jack,
The listing for that one said: “Opened box, but product is mint/neverused” so was probably a store demo or summat. Ebay has to have it listed as 'Used' then I believe. You would enjoy the VS tank line. I've got their KV-2 'Capture' and Sherman to go with my Tokyo Marui Tiger 1. They can be used outdoors but are best used used indoors even with their full suspensions, etc. Alpha, I certainly enjoy mine and will be referring to it for it's beautiful desert paint job as I work on the Taigen Tiger kit.

Hmmm. If its still there Friday I may put in a bid. I've seen some of the other mini tanks and they don't look that good, this Tiger seems to be the best looking one.
