Thanks everyone, I decided to go for the Torro in the end, mainly because it comes with a handset and stuff, and is ready to go. My son is only 6 so maybe building a Tamiya was too much of an ask for him. The Torro can still be painted and weathered which really is the fun part of any model lol. I will probably paint it as if it has had a newer turret put on an older chassis, to explain the lack of Zimmerit.

I ordered from a place in germany via Ebay, comes with the 360 turret and black steel gears, will get some pics up once she arrives and let you know how I get on.

Big thank you to all who replied, especially Horses, who owns both, and whom I can blame if its crap! lol :haha: ;)

Hi Kwiky, I think you'll be happy with the Torro King Tiger. I am with my Torro Tiger. Look forward to the pics.

PS. Horses is probably the reason several modellers jumped on the Torro KT wagon... it's really a beautifully made tank  ...more metal than any other brand ;)

No Blame me and if you really think its crap rather than a 1/6th scale KT I could always have yours but to be honest both have good and bad points but bet you enjoy the torro KT I Do lol, but to be honest as Alpha says you can feel the difference when you hold them and they drive a dream unless I have been really lucky with my 3 and my 2 M16 halftracks :D
My collection of torro tanks but the missing KT is still in its ammo crate waiting to get the new top fitted and painted lol as works been stopping me :D

A Tamiya kit would be WAY more to ask a 6 year old to assemble I think. I know when I was younger and got models my father had to help me with I was not happy "helping" him put together my model. He never built it how I wanted it, never painted it right in my mind and just screwed the whole thing up to me.

I think you guys will be very happy with the Torro King Tiger and you're 100% it can always be re-painted and weathered and detailed. Just remember to have fun with it, listen to what he wants to do if it is his even if it sounds silly. Coming from a guy who's dad never did anything the way he wanted it done I can tell you it is important. But the most important thing is for you guys to have fun with it!
