Greetings Al...welcome to the board....You may want to mosey over to the Tiger Thread where there are several finished models ...then follow the builds that you fancy by taking a browse through of the build threads..there are three Heng Long...Tamiya...and Other...where you will find scratch built to Taigen builds
Tiger's eh mate ?!..................good choice.
The new H/L ones are pretty well sorted as far as basic accuracy goes.
Im not big on electronics (I still think that the smoke that comes out of wires is put back in by a guy with a smoke machine )
Best thing is there are every option for add ons & mods for these.
You can quote me ;
"your imagination is only limited by your ability to pay for it"
You simply can't go wrong with the Tamiya Tiger 1. The only upgrades you might want to get for it are cosmetic PE parts and metal tracks - it needs nothing else. There's a ton of builds for Tamiya's Tiger under the Tamiya section to check through as well, but the build is really easy. No more complicated that a relatively simple 1:35 tank.
Good Morning,
David, the degree of assistance and accuracy that you bring to folks who must have it for their Historical Tiger Build is unmatched! Having said that, as Herman noted, the Heng Long Tiger 1 has come miles from what it used to be and looks great with some basic paint and weathering. That level of accuracy satisfies a lot of folks and helps the overall Hobby by bringing in new blood, so to speak. Lets not forget as better modelers than me have noted, that everyone has their own level of 'finished' and that none of them are wrong since it is supposed to be about having fun and sharing our enthusiasm as a group.
warm regards and Happy New Years to us all,
Painless
well all I can say so far guys, is a big thank you to you all for the advice so far.
I think I will be going the Tamiya route as I have built a few of their static models in the long ago past and was never disappointed with their quality.
Once I get started I will post pics etc(and probably hassle you all for advice)
I just have to dispose of my Yank tank(Mustang) first then its all systems go...........
Really looking forward to the challenges ahead.
Thanks again to you all and a happy new year all round.
