Re: Heng long M1 Abrams in uk NOW
The Abrams is the tank that got me interested in tanks. When I was a kid I read a book titled, "To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth." There was a section about the capabilities of the Abrams in 1984. Pretty amazing read back when I was young (I was born in '84).
Anyways, the confirmed HL looks pretty decent! Hopefully we see an IR version!
Always unsure about the battery, I ordered an advertised 5000mah battery from China and it only charged to 1700mah.

I'm sure you already know, but I have had batteries take a few cycles to reach their rated capacity. More so with the NICAD than the NIMAH. Mi Lipo batteries seem OK the first time.SovereignZuul wrote:The Abrams is the tank that got me interested in tanks. I don't see how they could discriminate if they wanted your continued business. I don't have any statistics, but I would bet that RC Tanking is far more popular in Europe than the US. After all, you have all of the location history.

Re: Heng long M1 Abrams in uk NOW
Good afternoon,
Just from a cursory inspection of the images, I note: metal tracks are single pin and hollow like the ones HL made up for their Sherman when it was new. Road wheels look good. A lot of work will be required to make those hinged panels over the running gear function. They are solid plastic now. The M2 mount for the commander looks as basic as can be. That will be an aftermarket pickup by Schumo or Mato along with a good deal of the rest of the tank's detail. It can be made to look like the real tank in the photo but get ready to jump start your wallets, my friends.
regards,
Painless

...Here for the Dawn...
Re: Heng long M1 Abrams in uk NOW
The lipo would be minor to me ...don't think it will be included...looks to be a China only feature as when you look at the charger it is the 220 volt type...so probability that that is replaced upon world wide distribution is likely...nice tank...hope it comes with that new transmitterJake79 wrote:Hey JT

If there is any doubt...this confirms the Heng Long Abrams is out...I don't really like this company...but one thing for sure...once they have it ...in two or three months it will be in the US

About a hundred dollars less than in the UK...so that seller probably is shipping them in from this guy and reselling them

Re: Heng long M1 Abrams in uk NOW
I got mine delivered yesterday. $269 was the final price with next day shipping and metal gears. The tank is a lot better made and detailed than my Pershing or Tiger 1. I have not seen the new Leo so I cannot compare. The tracks are single pin, but I have a set of accurate tracks from Chunwai going on as well as a metal sprocket. The battery was a 2000 7.2v as used in the other ones in the past....no Lipo for US.....the remote is nice with the smoke on/off, Volume, and steering trim tab being nice features. Let me know if you have any questions
