What motors and transmissions are you using? Custom I am sure, but are the available for sale? I have a new Abrams that that needs torque and more speed.

These are brushless motors. I use these - http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/X ... 69875.html
And the gerboxes are 1:20 worm gears in custom made encasements (filled with oil).

Nice. Never thought about worm gears. Thanks for the reply. How does it compare to stock speeds and do you have any video?

I didn't test it for real yet, just a few runs indoors. I am still tuning the suspension. Model weight is more than 7 kg.
There is no comparison to standard HL brushed gearbox. Different soud (like a whistle - sound of high speed spinning) and much higher power. These motors have theoretically 550 wats, brushed motor... maybe 10% of that, so available torque and speed is much higher.

Very nice work! Out of curiosity, are you using an FPV camera gimbal stabilization system for your turret rotation and gun elevation?

Absolutely stunning build, both electronically and mechanically. An impressive feat all round.
