Fi ouy nac dear siht neht gnilleps tnow rettam. :haha:

I have never used a template and have done loads of roadwheels on tanks without getting any paint anywhere that it wasn't needed. Like Herman said, use Tamiya rubber paint, it is wonderful stuff.

I just hold the lower hull on its side, either on a bench or my lap, so that the side of the hand that is holding the brush is resting on the other wheels. Use one hand to paint, always moving the brush in straight lines and always keeping the bristles firmly on the rubber wheel. do a small section at a time, lift the brush, and turn the wheel with the fingers of the other hand so that your painting hand stays where it is.

If you need more paint, dip the brush in the pot, if you have overloaded the brush use the brush to move the excess away from the rim, then carry on as before. Never use the brush on the wheel unless your hand is resting on something, as it will be like trying to write neatly without resting your wrist on the paper.

I airbrush the lower hull and do the rubber afterwards, as the rubber paint is so thick it will cover anything.

Try it a couple of times and it becomes as natural as spelling 'aluminium'. ;)

Hey, the thread title is "tyres" ??

Soccer is a term the U.S. has to use to help catagrorise women that drive kids to school in S.U.V's !! We call them wives.

Baseball "World" Series is a tournament no one else in the world plays ??

"Football" is a game the yanks THROW the bloody ball as far as they can without it actually touching the ground calling it then a touchdown & kick it on occasion to get extra points.
Wheres the "foot" bit ??

All that aside, Mr Wobbly has it right, tank on side, rested hand, plenty paint, no visits from family especially monster-in-laws, and thinners to clean at the ready.

Good Morning, Gentlemen,
I believe that we are all united in our enjoyment of scale armor and it does not really matter to a truly broad minded individual engaged in that pursuit where anyone is from or what language that they speak. Fun is a universal constant and is readily shared among us all. ( as are all of the things that we may carp about during the having of said 'fun' )
regards,
Painless
