Best lubricant for metal gearboxes?

MAN...Everybody liking motorcycle chain lube 8O ....it's all good with me...but I remember chain lube being really sticky...like Wibbly said...made to shed water and not the lube.... I remember getting that stuff on my hands and clothes...you'll never get it off your clothes... and your hands usually had to be cleaned with solvent then soap

I'll stick to my guns and use Pledge :haha: it's a wax...so you just spray on your black steel or whatever gearbox...before you install it...let is sit for a little while... then wipe it with a rag...you get a nice shiny smooth running gearbox...and stuff that can be cleaned with soap and water :D

PS. The viscous lube I use for white metal boxes..it's made for RC cars...so also doesn't harm the plastic should it contact it ;)
