Thanks guys, froze last year in a steel barn milling the first set of rails,control arms and torsion rods. The second set cost much to have made but solved many problems. The lower can be assembled in less than 2 hours minus wheels and tracks. Just want to complete the Jagdpanther to a point where I can detail the upper hull. And enjoy the tank a bit.

Sharing was not possible before, the solutions to the track problems and sprockets were causing problems with several other designers. If they saw my work then they would have been able to understand the solutions. And since they have loads of cash,and I do not.well I kept my work private.

I just wanted to design a kit which anyone could build and enjoy for less money. Sure Mark 1 Armotek Field of Armor have great tanks, 6 grand and no worries. How about 1200-1500 and your driving a metal hulled tank. Features may cost you more of course but thats what we do right? So if a Tanker can drive a 1/6th scale hull,he can spend all the time he needs detailing the upper hull.
And money can be spread over time but every weekend he's driving his tank,adding features,until he has over time what he could not of afforded in one payment?

At least thats my idea, and until proven to be totally stupid I shall keep working to create that "KIT" for the smaller budgets.

Thanks guys,your respect for my accomplishment means much,and this hull is tough. Welding can also create more rigid joints and thats an option. But as designed rivets and bolts will do the job.

Wheel assembly, the wheels are FOA Jagdpanther modified with small ball bearings,spacers are from Home depot hardware department,nylon washers for thrush plates against bearings. The axles grade 5 allan head shoulder bolts,with simple nuts.Nyloc nuts are also suggested for the inner locking nut.<br /><br />The rubber liners are standard belts available online,these were very difficult to install until a got smart. I would like to mention no wheel failures except two sets I adjusted wrong,which caused the bearings to "FLOAT" destroying the race. Replaced and adjusted they continue to work properly.

Hey there Saxon...meant to get to your thread.... I'm glad I got to see it....I especially like the photo with your son standing on the hull...it really shows how much engineering went into your build ...Thank you sir :thumbup:

Thanks Alpha,more to come.Getting settled into a better shop,I hope? Least I now have heat and A/C better lights,better all around shop for Large scale. Leaving my small Patio shop for detailing work,and the 1/16 scale tanks.

Just been a long road guys. Long road.

One more Goal to clear, the ARMORTEK EXPERIENCE, no not a Tank kit but a set of Armortek tracks and sprockets now several years in the box(Thanks John) and many Tiger parts (Thanks Mike) to build the ultimate Tiger S13 Early version.

But first lets finish the Jagdpanther hey. :thumbup:
Machined Parts for drive and tension assembly. The tension assembly uses roll pins and simple fulcrum lever technology. I measure spring tension with a tension scale to find the point at which the track pins/clevis sections fractured,then applying levers of the same length so they balance out the effect of movement I was able to tune the tension system to always relieve pressure before track damage. This problem was causing some to break the FOA Tracks . They determined the tracks were to weak. So this solution of applying basic engineering principles to solve the problem worked,and to some degree vindicated my view of an engineered approach. Lets just say the smarter guys lost. wasting a year and much money applying ever increasing tension to solve the problem. And breaking tracks ,tracks and more tracks. BTW,The scale a simple tension scale,sometimes used in Tennessee to weigh FISH! Ok I used a slightly better version at the campus lab,but same principle. Obviously from my fast and furious video it worked.

Component brace panel. This allows access through the engine hatch,the velcro makes a great shock absorbent material and allows component removal in the field.wiring is protected from chaffing by rubber conduit guides.later I will add flexible conduit material.

The large scale version at idle,note the damage from the video? Yes I  crashed ,last 7 seconds I hit a car just off screen. Smokers will be back on the market by Christmas guys.After Phil died I just stopped making them for a while.One member has though improved on the 1/16 scale version and sells them on his site. <br />Another marine many of you know. Rear deck coming together ,and then I wreck it and have to repair the damage.<br /><br />I am changing the drive to the FOA-Tanks drive,with my 17 tooth sprocket design and Loic's hubs and excellent detailed metal sprocket bolt rings and shaft covers. <br /><br />The drive will give me more torque,yet slower speeds. with the 250watt no reduction motors the tank hit the car at, well a good 15+mph and survived pretty darn well, just do not ask the storage box to second that statement. removed ,hammered flat and reshaped the part looks fine now.

Even though simple solutions these parts still had to be found ,cataloged,and purchased.The metal hull designed in the flat in 2d autocad,sent to the laser cutter and cut,then the rails had to first be designed and sketched in autocad 2d.Sent to a machine shop for manufacture,materials purchased and all the hardware determined and purchased. I have a very detailed list with the instructions on where and what exactly to purchase.

The competition having more money obviously would have benefited from my work. So I have remained silent. Recently I conceded,and joined forces. We shall see if this relationship benefits the Hobby as I hope.

Seeing the dream of large scale armor offered on the market at lower prices as a basic armor kit??

Mobility first,detailed features second. With many optional component packages the limits of creativity are only restrained by the wife's grip on the purse. :haha: :haha:

Special thanks to Dietrich my partner for many months,hard times and terrible events. We never stopped trying to achieve our goal,we simply did not realize how completely foolish some people could be, or how others could be so deceitful simply because they lacked the inventive nature to resolve basic engineering problems. And would rather waste years of fruitless effort than to simply say I do not know how to do that......

And for the record,I'm not a bright guys,massive head injury at a young age. So if this can crawl from my brain, then certainly anyone who applies themselves and is not afraid to ask questions or admit they are not all knowing can build a 1/6th scale kit.

:O HOLY MOLLY!!!!!!!!!! those are some parts you use on 1/6th scale that bearing looks like it came off an automobile 8O ...pretty amazed at how fast the space is taken up...it looks roomy in there...the components must really be something 8O

Nice Shoes Saxon .... ever run over a foot with one of these monsters ? ............... :haha:
