Hi Merlin707 you will be fine and no it won't be complicated at all contrary to the advice of some :/ . It is a straight swap, I have done 5 in the past

The set you have bought is in my opinion an excellent and well tested 2.4Ghz control system

Just more scaremongering about Taigen I am afraid :/
NOT EVEN Scalawag

No worries about that at all. I would assume that you have not used one of these control units as you seem not to know of their compatibility with H/L.

Perhaps if you had actually swapped one before commenting, or at least read up on them to gain an accurate understanding of the difference between this and the RX18, then your opinions would be more helpful :/

Here is an idea....if you don't know an accurate answer to a question, perhaps it is better to keep quiet and let those who do know answer :O :O

Poor advice seems to be getting more prevalent on this forum :/
You know Scalawag... I know you enjoy coming down on me for stuff like this..it doesn't really matter.... I don't like the Taigen system only because they have sat on it for years.... you even admitted that in another post ... so stop your crying about it ... Taigen is ok...but not for me ..you dig it ..fine...You don't see me hounding your butt about it

THIS IS THE THING...TAIGEN USES A DIFFERENT MECH ...reason for my concern

Thanks Dane...it's refreshing to see someone voice the "real deal" instead of those who would push something that will probably give Merlin a headache....I've seen it before...and glad I never took the advice of some of these "experts"

Good Afternoon,
The fix to the gun flash swap between Taigen and HL ( or to any one where the gun fires continuously or the flash will not flash ) is to make sure that there is a ground cable for the gun unit and that it is attached to either the main power ground or the On\Off ground. I did this on the Torro\Taigen KV-2 and it was a simple fix. Torro had even pre-attached the ground cable. There are a couple of threads in the electronics section or on You Tube or Google on how to get an IR gun set up working. Good luck and have fun.
regards,
Painless

Hello ALPHA,

And thank you for that considered and adult response.

I don't enjoy "coming down on you for stuff like this" quite to the contrary I would rather not mention it. However I do not like to see people who ask legitimate questions get inaccurate or questionable advice in return. Since your usual response to your opinion being questioned seems to be along the lines of your replies to me here, I have learnt that questioning things politely does not work where you are concerned. If you wish me to stop replying in this manner then I would urge you to consider your responses to posts and the advice offered more carefully please.

I am sure we all know by now that you do not like Taigen as you seem to never miss an opportunity to let us all know that. I have admitted previously that Taigen have not updated their system for a number of years, because that is factual, they have not had to update it, as until the middle of this year it was the only 2.4Ghz proprietary system on the market. As to crying about it I would not cry about a system I don't intend to use, but I will challenge bad advice when I see it.

You are quite correct I don't see you "hounding my butt about it", but then I rarely express an opinion about what I think is the the best of anything. I am quite happy to share my personal preferences with anyone who asks (by PM), but I won't force my opinions on others at every opportunity to make my point. I don't need to.

Lastly I would appreciate it if in future you would moderate your tone and language when commenting on my posts please. Others may not find it inappropriate or offensive but I do.

Thank you

Paul

Yeah Yeah...you're nothing but a hound dog buddy...crying brand foul all the time...what I said wasn't inaccurate at all...why didn't you question Dane? or other people ...because I know there was another membe/ builder who had problems hooking the Taigen RX to his Heng Long...the 8 pin connector as a matter of fact....but you only hound me...quite frankly I don't care if you don't respect me... as what comes around also goes around...you're good Scalawag...but I haven't seen you do anything an average builder could do..and your advice...well sometimes it's questionable as well :P

Fine then I won't trouble you with my presence here any further. There are other boards where this sort of personal abuse are not tolerated.

Good day to one and all, I will see some of you elsewhere no doubt.

I am not playing the martyr or looking to others for support. I simply don't enjoy contributing to this forum as much as I did.

No "threat" to leave, I have asked the admins to remove my account from the forum, and I will be spending my time elsewhere.
