Thanks for your help guys. Fynsdad, I will certainly be in touch. I've already saved money by finding there's a barrel available for 99p. I thought I was going to have to get one from here.

And then there is postage, setting fire to your money is probably the only way that will get rid of it quicker than this lunacy you are now into.

I used to fly RC aircraft, I've had quite a few pounds bury themselves nose first into the ground.....believe me Tanks seem a lot cheaper.

Good Afternoon and welcome,

gidday Mr Steel(cool formal name that by the way !)
Yourself being a Shermaholic (as known in here) is in great company.
The tips & tricks these guys display is nothing short of extraordinary & the realism and inovative construction, plus the obviously exhaustive research & scrounging for just the right thing to use leaves you sitting wondering "who the hell thinks of that " !!

Thanks for all the help guys. The response I've had has been great. Fynsdad has sent loads of pictures, pointed me in the right direction for the parts I need and told me who to speak to regarding electronics, and I've already been invited to join a club, although as I said to Tankbear I don't really get on with clubs.
I'm only planning to build one tank to drive around the garden, and it has to be a Firefly as my Grandfather worked on them at the ROF, Nottingham, and used to tell us as kids how he helped win the war..ha ha.
