watch out if you get the H/L factory lunatic glue gun guy that does his job in a poorly ventilated confined space with no budget constraints like I did

They all have pros and cons really. Some stuff needs replacement, others don't and is just preference. Some models are actually a little incorrect and to make them correct needs surgery. The older Torros have more inline with HL and the hulls are fairly cheap. The newer ones have torsion bar suspension and are pretty much a copy of the way Tamiya does it, although the lower hull stops at the bottom of the sponsons whereas the Tamiya doesn't have a top and a bottom, the top deck is removed to get access to it.

I'd say if you're going for a Tiger I, get the Tamiya (I own most of the Tigers available and the Tamiya is by far the best of them). If you're going for a Tiger II then some of the other offerings are - with a few alterations - as good as the Tamiya and potentially better. Although once you add up the prices they come in near the same though.

Thanks for all the messages and advice, I have decided to go with a purchase from the official Torro shop as they have just released a late model Tiger 1. I'm not sure about the colour scheme so that will be one of my first changes.

Do the Torro tanks come with the steel cogs on the motors or will I have to upgrade them?

I was going to buy the early model Torro Tiger 1 but just before buying I caught sight of the latest Torro Tiger 1 which is a late model version, just not sure about the colour scheme.
