I had the same problem with mine. Another thing is the fitment of the rear plate to the lower hull, it's way off on mine and needed trimming and will need filler when I permanently attach the two pieces.

If you intend on driving anywhere wet get some RTV and seal the hull too. Use some heavy grease in the axle holes in the body.

yesterday's arrivals , just a couple of jp400 motors as recommended elsewhere on the forum and, a couple of hatches for relocating the switches , Image

after much research and consideration i have decided not to use my HL tiger as donor for the taigen metal hull, instead i am going to build the taigen hull up with all new parts and have two tigers , i will be running both projects at the same time and use this thread to document both ,
