Yeah mine aren't as loose as yours but they do have slack in them just not to the point that they rest on the tops of the wheels. Mine did come with a handfull of extra track link and pins so I could make mine like yours just not sure if I wanna mess with them as they work perfectly the way they are and with all the track troubles I've had I don't want to go causing more.

Plastic or metal?.... nice if Taigen gives extra links for the metal tracks...because Heng Long doesn't ....But if yours is running fine... don't mess with them...this is how I like my tanks to sit on my German tanks (JagdPanther Tiger and Panther G)..some have even more play ...but this is about the mark to achieve
(for me ;) )

But if you are not getting any weird sounds or not hearing grinding ...by all means ..just leave them be...My Pro version Stug was terrible...from the get go you could literally hear the gears grind...so I invested in the Mato tensioners... which I do feel are the best next to the ones for the KV....because both are the same (visually ) as what they are supposed to look like...and give horizontal not vertical range of adjustment ...both those tensioners give little over a 1/4 inch of adjustment ...which is very good as far as tensioners go ;)

ALPHA,
Nice KT, I like mine too.
Something too check...
I noticed on mine the fenders were rubbing the tracks, especially the front. I sanded the inner side of them, too near realistic thickness, runs quieter now. The metal tracks would have cleared the the interference on their own but I wanted the paint I put on them to stay.

The tank is a heavy beast. At first I would try lifting it from the back with one hand; four fingers underneath, thumb top side and the other hand holding the radio...well it's never a level lift, the long-ass barrel scrapes the ground :D

Yup Alpha they're the metal tracks and it came with a little bag that has about 20 or so extra track links and about 20 or so track pins. And yup I plan to leave well enough alone! I figure since they're behind the skirts anyway and you can't see the top of the wheels I'm not worried about it. I hope your runs as well as mine does!

Doesn't the Taigen have a tensioner built on it already ? 8O ALPHA
It does, but the problem is, like you said it only really goes up and down and not outward. The one that it comes with is "infinite" (i.e. not limited to lock points), but if I let it go all the way in, i.e. the lowest setting, the idler is too close to the last road wheel. I cannot make it look like what you have that, with the right distance from the last road wheel, and also the right height off the ground.

I did it with the JT as I mod the Taigen hull but that is mostly because I needed the really big gap between the last road wheel and the idler, but I am not going to go thru that just to get the KT the same look........ Although I might still take a crack at it by trying to extend the length of the tensioner mount so that when I adjust it will go up and down and outward as well.

Really like the look of your KT tracks. Inspired me to get cracking on fixing mine.

You got this one too Haw Haw?....It sure is a pretty tank...I like it better than the Porsche...I agree..with the metal additions she became pretty hefty...had to get used to the weight change after lol....didn't notice any contact with the fenders...but I only ran for a short time...will have to check on that ;) Thanks for the 411

So far So good... Jack :D ....test run she ran like a charm... as I described ...plowed through foot tall grass on low power with no problem :D

Yours was a much better deal though...as I think all in all we both paid the same ... your's has more metal parts....but I'm happy with her...so all is good :D

Yeah ....that's the reason I play with the Tracks first... luckily they were perfectly measured out for me by HL.... I just put them on :D ...can't beat that for simplicity lol......I did clock the front springs after the photo(the gearboxes made her sag a tad )...not much change in the profile.. but you can tell the difference in the sprung weight ...put her away quickly as I didn't want to get into her right now (I was already getting ideas ) :lolno:

So who knows Micheal ...when you revamp yours... it might be about the same time I work on this one :D ..got some R&D to do ;)
