Did you contact MatoMart about the set I found? Those looked like the right shaft length but did not mention the size in MMs. I have watched and bought from Murphy Ma for years back from the days of the 1/24 Marui airsoft forum. He is a worthwhile guy who knows his business.

Murphy is the best... actually replies to emails better than before...Mato has three gearboxes for the KT... one white metal ..one steel...and the last the Waltersons ...the white metal and steel are 3:1 stock Heng Long gearboxes....The Waltersons is a brass and steel 4:1

Yes I did Mr.Wolf and I'm just waiting for an email back as to if they are indeed the black steel geared 4.1 transmissions. Had they contacted me back before I heard back from Kara I would have just gotten a full refund from her but I figured at least this way I'd at least have my KT back up and running and I know to NEVER go thru a stream and then try to go thru the sandy bank. The factory white metal geared transmissions held up perfect until that point.
BTW thank you again for the link.
Just a short cut for you Jack..the black steel ones are stock...you can tell by the price.... 4:1s are about 10 - 20 dollars more...if you really want to go low ratio and can't wait...go for the Walterson's ...they are a good value...thing is you might have to do some drilling to the Taigen motor mount to get them in

I really don't want brass gears cause I KNOW what will happen to them. I know the 3.1 isn't much more then stock but its either that or the tank sits till who knows. I'd take the ones from Mato regardless of the gearing if they can verify they are indeed steel gears but so far this is day #3 and no word back from Mato as to if they really are.

Just to be clear Matomart doesn't carry the Walterson 3 to 1 brass gearboxes, They carry the mato brass gearboxes, Mato only gives you the gears and a mount plate. Walterson you get the gears, mount plate, extra pinions for changing speed ratios, tube of grease and the biggest gift of all is a pinion puller and they come with clear directions on a pamphlet.
Too bad I am out of stock though on the Walterson boxes.

Good Evening,
Freaky is the kind fellow that sold me the exceptional soundpot that I used in the redo of 'In The Mood'. Immortal Hobbies is another great site and local to 'North' America.

Good to know Painless... What I like to find though are vendors friendly to a little rock in the Pacific

...it's funny there are many shops on the continent that don't even consider us a state
