height of the pole and the size of the brolly ! ever tried pulling a piece of sprue over a candle ? it's amazing what thin bits of plastic you can create in diameter ! use to do it when building 1/35 german models as a kid making straps for mp40s'.

remember when you bought a model and it's in a frame ? then the sprue is all the waste ! so get bits of it and heat it over a candle and stretch it ! when you get good at it you'll be amazed the circular diameter you can get it !

I feel such a wally now. I didn't realise this was sprue ... so do you think the pen thing in the pic will be good enough once painted and weathered
