Good Afternoon,
Perhaps a rubber 'O' ring glued to the bottom of the stamp that Alpha suggested. That would provide nearly perfect marks each time but with the little bit of variation that Mustclime mentioned.

Pencil eraser with a hole drilled in it...just stamp those things out....you will find airbrushing the circles are pretty frustrating...especially when the brush spits

Hardware or convenience store....fine foam painters brushes....dremel a doughnut in the foam.... same as pencil...stamp out them "O" s ....No worries Mate...got a million of them

Hi Herman,

I would say do the ring makings by hand. Using some kind of stamp would definitely be quicker, but would produce a far too even effect. You only see this on other models. Have a look at the few pics of real tanks with this scheme and you will see the ring markings very a lot in size shape and thickness.

I can see this scheme being great to look at finished- but a heart breaker to execute !
Had an idea to use a section of plastic toob(!) and dab it in paint as required. Could squeeze the end of it every now and again to vary the sucker ring profiles, and cut it off to renew the face if necessary.
Cutting or somehow adding irregularities to the face could also create some variance during what would be a kind of printing process, that would include the "hairy-stick" to do uneven surfaces.

You could go one further and cut piece of foam to put on the end and cut to shape. Doing it that way you could get a scratched effect look like using foam for chipping effects.

If you allow the paint to tack out a little ... you will get different marks...you can also use the technique for dry brushing as well... it will also give you a different pattern to every stamp...pencil erasers would be best I feel... you can get different sizes or even carve them to suit your need...the rubber is very much like that of stamps... varying the pressure will also change the effect
