ALPHA

ALPHA, they are very large and having it maneuver a hundred yards away from you made it even more impressive with the engines shrieking. Never saw a large American bomber do very radical aerial movements. B52's wings are to long and thin. May be the "Hustler" v wing bomber could have done such movements but they were out of service long before this air show. Also with the crashes that have taken place at air shows the crowds are now moved so far away from the runways you can't be as up close and personal as you used to be able to. I live within 75 miles of the American EAA site were there have been a few horrific wrecks but the crowds are so far away you get to see more on the TV reporting then in person. When I actually lived in Oshkosh WI. you could get within about 75 yards od the main runway by parking in businesses parking lots outside the air show grounds.

Phil went to a show this past weekend...posted some pics... is that the same Vulcan you saw? There can't be too many of those still around
