thanks for the comments guys, mart, those neutered tanks were a new "company" nigel found on the net they hire out tanks for battles, they come to you, or whatever, they are called rc command, when we see these tanks i was gobsmacked, i could not believe just how BAD they were, i only took one or to pics of them, i didnt want to waste any more memory on the camera, the idea behind the company i think is good one, but when you turn out cack like what those tanks were!!, i cant believe people would spend money on that rubbish.
larry you could of come, you got a boat havnt you?, it would only take you a couple of monthes to row over , youre right, there was something for every one, and it was a fun day out, though there was more train related stuff there than anything else, so stewart would of been in his element

I looked up the url in the pic you took - their site claims that they use Tamiya tanks, which makes it an expensive hobby to build and maintain a fleet like that :-\

hi mart, thats what they say, but i am as certain as i can be that they are not tamiya tanks we see, but if they are, then it means they are even worse than i 1st thought, i would reccomend anyone to avoid them like the plague

They look a little 2nd hand whatever they are! I guess if you hand them out to Joe Public to play with you can expect a little damage, but those tanks look like they've been to a demolition derby or 3

Thanks to Tony for putting up so many pictures - I took very few. None of trains - sorry Brel! - I should add that we took Tony's T-34 and PzIII owner/driver daughter Katie and Tiger(?) owner/driver niece Kristen. They're the ones with R2D2.

In order not to break Tony's lens, I don't appear on any of his photos....


Okay, I know those Tigers look cr@p, but they are not meant for display, but meant for punters to use, so I don't think we should be that disparaging about them! If the guys who run it make a bit of money at weekends letting punters try IR battling, then good luck to them. I think they were Tamiya chassis as they took the turrets off to change battery packs. But the battling was more akin to "stock Tiger racing" than a proper (whatever that is!) IR battle. After all, a 'proper' IR battle would have about 10 times as many T-34s and Sherman than Tigers and lots of Russian infantry sacrificing their lives like ants swarming over a dying caterpillar...

All in all, an interesting day out. Not sure I would go again as I am getting fed up going to model engineering shows and being surrounded by 90% trains! I'm an armour and aircraft (WW2 of course) man myself.

Plus there was nothing there I wanted to buy - as it was mainly rolling stock, grr (sorry again Brel!)
