KTRob,
Thank you! Shermans lend themselves to realism.

PainlessWolf wrote:Good Afternoon and a great Memorial Day to you all. Thank you, Gentlemen for your kind comments. I could have done a better pic but changing the angle too much brought houses and cars into view so it is what it is. ;o) I'm glad you folks enjoyed. ;o) Marko, Scalawag, CH, *Bows* Jnewboy, thank you again or the tip on how to do a better commander figure. Alpha, the build owes much to you. Herman, *chuckles* You know I'm not a rivet counter. I build to my level of satisfaction. I'm watching all of you fellows' builds and enjoying every moment of them.

Lol... Should have said those boxes fell off when ol' Pool crossed the ravine :haha: :haha:

It's great to see that someone else is using their photo editing programs to make a good picture even better. Very nice looking Sherman.

Good Morning, Alpha, ;o)
I sat and looked at those boxes?, oil cans?, whatever they are on the front fenders of 'In The Mood' and wondered why S.Sgt. Pool left them just sitting there? The tank is obviously at speed and I cannot see any rope or method of securing them used. The first solid bump would have sent them flying. Well, in the picture of the 'Mood' being driven across that bridge in Belgium, the crew had a shovel strapped to the Radioman's side light guard and lifting hook so 'everything in it's place' wasn't a big thing for them it seems. In combat, when you could have to mount up and move out at a moment's notice, I guess a lot of things got left behind and were replaced enroute or at the next maint. stop. It is just one of those mysteries that tank enthusiasts like us get to chew over some 70 odd years on.
warm regards,

GreenGiant,
Thank you for the compliment! I used Picasa 3.9 to turn my thoroughly modern neighborhood and front lawn into 1944 Europe. ;o)

You know Mike told me he read somewhere that in the Pacific theater the GI foot soldiers would run up to tanks and take the tools :haha: ...reason it wasn't uncommon to see the Shermans without any... because the crews would stow them away ...so an unsecured box of rations or whatever could easily just disappear off a fender :haha:
Ya never know.... I'm sure horders were around back then too ;) ................ :haha: :haha: :haha:

Have a good one Painless Image
