CH,
It does look good in green! Round up some Model Masters 'Bomber Green' and give it a dusting then add a light coat of Model Masters 'Medium Green' and you will have a very close approximation of Soviet 'Protective Green' ;o)

And thin it with Diesel & apply it with a yard broom

Some of the machines I have seen looks like they tipped green colouring into the casting mould !!
I will go so far as to say the yellow undercoat gives interesting modulation to the green as I can see in my pics.
An unexpected bonus mate, keep going !!
