Looking good, I have to make some covers like you have to stop the gears from spraying grease everywhere! Paint looks fantastic

the cover for the gearbox's was very easy.
it's just a thin piece of sheet aluminium, cut out with tin snips & bent by hand.
i've sprayed the exhaust shields, mudflaps, towing hooks & cupola ring
so just a wash to do, all with 3 weeks to spare!

Extra nice work there with the blend and overall paint. If I had the dough, I would fly you over here to redo the paint on mine ( stock HL with flats applied ) ;o) That will be another one of my redo jobs one day. Makes no sense not to do it with ATAK zimmerit widely available now.

thanks paul, the slight overspray seems to darken the dunkelgelb to match the rest of it nicely

you'll do a cracking job on yours & you know it
to be pefectly honest, i don't like the colours
i used black brown which i think looks far too dark
& made the stripes too fat on the turret which makes the dunkelgelb look dark.
on the plus side the camo seems to work & it looks completely different to my panzer iii

Nice looking KT. That's the only HL tank I haven't got around to getting yet. Here's something very few do on their German tanks. The periscopes or viewing blocks had glass in them. an easy way to get the effect is to use the product that small scale railroaders use. It comes in a square plastic container with a very fine spout sticking out one of the corners. It comes out white and fairly thick so you can run it around the inside of the vision block hole working to the center until the block is filled. It may take a few days to dry but when it is dry you have a nice shiny clear vision block rather then the black hole that was originally there. If you finish off your paint job with any kind if spay on dull or flat coat wait until your done with that first.

Now THIS is good advice..........Ive been pissing around like an old mole at a christening trying all wonders of clear plastic, Tamiya clear paints and everything in between.

thanks for the tip green giant, i did consider periscopes after looking at dgsslkirk's build ( link in original post)
but decided against for the time being.

i've also toned down the decals a bit.
this will do for now, so i can try & get the schurzen done on my panzer iii in time for for ashdown
