Re: Disassembling HL King Tiger
hi yes it would be you could take the top deck off all the way and run the base till your happy with it and then put the top back on dave
Re: Disassembling HL King Tiger
Guys, you rock.
The deck came off with a little struggle after getting the screws behind the idlers.
Though to my shock, the chassis is very....empty. I suppose i've got my hands on the kit without any options.
Well, I guess i'll have to add them myself.

Re: Disassembling HL King Tiger
ok so what do you have in there
Re: Disassembling HL King Tiger
From the looks of it, it's a simple receiver and controller for the engines and a terribly simple system for the turret.
Is it true, that the entire board for the tank itself is just a rather small board?
If this is not the case, i could upload some images of what I've got standing here.

Alright, here's an image of what the internals look like. That is, if you would call this meager amount of electronics internals.

*edit*
Eh, oops, the image is slightly larger then expected

Re: Disassembling HL King Tiger
Looks like the very old non S+S electronics.

Re: Disassembling HL King Tiger
ok great
you have a non smoke and sound with nylon gears and an old tx 14 board
so gears need to go for black steel
rx18 board with wires and rec board
smoke unit if you like but waste of time really
smoke and sound transmitter and crystals
and speaker
that should get it up and running
or you can put your choice of elecs in to it

So, from these reactions, I take it I've gotten my hands on a tank from with the guts right out of the stone age?
Ok, well, from the list, I were silently hoping at least some of these options would be present inside it.
Anyhow, as that is not the case, i guess i'll order them from one of the listed sites from here.
About the gearboxes though, is it really needed to upgrade these or "will they last" ? I'm not too fond of replacing things like these right out of the box.
