Well here's an update on her I got the front and rear blades to operate and also the crane jib now lifts and swivels by radio so I started on the fittings. I'll leave the pictures to tell all. LoL.

- A micro servo inbetween the drive motors and operating through the pistons with a wire.
- front blade operating pistons (a).jpg (26.8 KiB) Viewed 2690 times

- front blade operating pistons (b).jpg (25.18 KiB) Viewed 2690 times

- using the same method as the front a hidden wire to a servo in the piston
- rear blade operating pistons (a).jpg (27.2 KiB) Viewed 2690 times

- rear blade operating pistons (b).jpg (26 KiB) Viewed 2690 times
.
The crane jib lifts by using a small screw jack I built to look like a hydraulic piston and a minature 600/1 motor gearbox. The swivel is by a large gear wheel on the crane shaft and an old HL turret rotation motor. ( sorry forgot to take pictures) I'll take some when I strip and paint her.

- Rear view of some fittings.jpg (28.25 KiB) Viewed 2690 times

- Rear view of some fittings and step.jpg (29.18 KiB) Viewed 2690 times
.
Well that's her upto date at the moment, I've still got the side pod doors, hinges and handles to make and then start on tool storage and also the crane hook.
The big decision then is how to paint her. I've found two versions one is in a Isreal museum in sand colour and the other is in a private collection all in grey.

Well finally got most of the detail work done so decided to put some paint on her. I did the whole model in red oxide and then in humbrol 63 (matt Sand) this will give a good foundation for the bleaching and weathering, and also using the red oxide as a base, in bright light it gives that reddy tint to the sand colour that I found the sand has when I was working that area.
So heres the pictures to date:-

I'm fairly pleased with way she came out, and I think once the weathering is done she will be fairly presentable of the real thing I have just the electronics to sort out now. The front and rear blades all work on there own as does the crane jib swivelling and raising, but now its trying to squeeze it all into the hull, I hoping to use an RX18 for sound, lights and drive and also the crane swivel through a RH5C and 8 channel 2.4 ghz ( 4 channels) and then use the remaining 4 channels for the front and rear blades and the crane jib lower/raising. if it will all go in

Lol.
When I get her finally weathered I'll put a couple of pictures on.
Thanks for the comments I'm glad you like her even though she's a bit differant.
