ALPHA,

Here is the link to Juckenburg:

http://www.store-juckenburg.de/

I have gotten 4 kits from him..... JS-3, SU-152, KV-85 which I converted to a KV-122 and a Nashorn/Rhino. Really cool and unique stuff. Actually I have one more coming from him but it is next project.

I am watching couple of RC rally car lens cover on eBay, and will be getting the stock HL KV light assembly one shortly in the post from Tank Army. I have tried the blister package method and it worked okay, but I would preferred a correct size lens cover from say a 1/10 or 1/12 RC Rally or Truck. I will go back and check your KV-2 build for the bezel etc.

Thanks for the link Micheal...I was pretty surprised to see the Kv2 was less than the Kv1...though that Kv1 does look pretty sweet :D

On the use of blister pack... I find the ones with button locks... they have a square and a perfectly round one which snap together... obviously I use the round one lol...the other option is to order some MV lenses... they come in an assortment of sizes...and work really well with a LED mounted in the back of them...usually found in hobby shops that have train gear...but they've been around for a long time... and I think there is one seller on EBAY that carries them...all you need to know is the circumference you need

I would have ordered one for my Kv2...but I wasn't sure they were still available ...and have already fabricated a reflector dish for the lining of my bezel

Thanks again for the link

Thanks ALPHA. Had a look on eBay and didn't know about MV lens. Will be visiting my local hobby shop and they also carries trains stuff so should have them.

Michael, Good Morning,
Here is a link to explain what you should be asking for at your local Hobby shop.
http://www.hubhobbyshop.com/hint32.htm
They mention the Tamiya vehicle lenses but most of their 1/16 scale armor and vehicles come with them anymore.
regards,
Painless

Hi Micheal... yeah those MV lenses are pretty nice if you can get them... I found this on EBAY US

http://www.ebay.com/itm/HO-SCALE-MV-PRO ... 2c61b1c901

What's cool is you can either illuminate them or just put them in as is... they come in all sorts of colors .... and if you do choose to illuminate them,, they are super bright as the chrome reflector works like that of a headlight.... all you have to do is drill a hole from the backside and peek the LED into it

Now that I've found they are available.. I gotta get some :haha: :haha:

Happy Modelling Micheal

ALPHA, Painless, thanks for the tip. Went to my local hobby store today and found that they do carry MV lens but it looks like I will need the biggest one MV has but the store does carry it. Anyway, I ended up order this from eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261313686102?ss ... 1497.l2649

According to the seller the diameter of the round lens is exactly 14mm, which is roughly the same as the HL light. I will use the outside frame and remove the plastic insert that holds the LED and go from there.

Hi Micheal... too bad your local hobby shop doesn't carry them ...but they are available on EBAY... if you don't get them ,,, if I might suggest something for a reflector... some thick aluminum ...from one of those foil baking pans shape well into a reflector dome...just use a ball peen hammer ..punch a hole behind it and put your led in and cover it with the truck lens you got ,,,you might have to raise the outer edge ...but it should work kind of like that of a old fashioned flash light :D
I haven't made one for my Kv2 yet...but the Sherman I just finished has what you are considering done to it

the lenses are the "lock" buttons from a blister pack ;)
