ok second night of R&D and gday Nic some intersting ideas
Party the reson i want to work at 1/35 is there is no probs with tanks and other things to put on the deck and yes it would be so cool to get a mate to drive on a 1/35 m1a1 run it acros a lake drive of the other end do somthing drive back on and back acros the lake. As for the skirt the skirt on a real LCAC when inflated is a realy wird shape and i think with out a lot of mucking around and lot of out lay geting somthig cast up custom it would be close to imposable to make something to scale. Woz on another thred i started had a realy good idear and i tryed it out in small scale and it works well and that is to have a bored btewen the fan and the skirt it impoves the life you get out of a computer cooling fan. there is also a guy on youtube here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-DqpZzuVcg
if this dost make you want to build a hovercoraft then nothing will if you go there his vids there is one where this style of skirt is that good in the water as it scoops it up. So using Nics Advice and wozes "thanks guys" the mk 8 i think im at wich will be done over the weekend will be thus
tomrow im going to go part the hobbie shop and get a motor for an electric rc plane as well as a prop and. I will then set about making a deck around 750mm by 400mm and mounting what will be the maine lift egine with the bord underneath. In the youtube video you will see the problem this guy has is when hen run on water the back of the skirt becomes a scoop. I will try to solve this by having a air thigh wall insine the skit and another skirt behind the skirt at the back which will go rite the way round and insted of having an opening with have 8 holes and be powered by a computer fan acting as a back fan only doing the back so it better in water ( there is no point unless it can go on water ) the propblem im now going have is i will need to make a cunning grill that will just look like deck on the good one
