Just out of interest

I been thinking of fitting an over cab canvas like one I saw on you-tube .... and may attempt to get a fan assisted smoker in it may be .have a good one cheers Ray ..
Bad news Ray... I don't remember the manufacturer... the kit was actually listed here in the new release area.. but it has been replaced by another subject...Interestingly enough.. It appeared when you were first thinking about purchasing one of these gems
I'm not sure if there is an archive for it ...though I'm not sure you would really want to do the mod... because it would mean turning your M16 into a transport vehicle and the removal of your four banger gun set

What I have heard some people who own this beauty.. is to chop the sides and hinge the drop down doors...you could probably do it pretty easily once the cuts are made... all you would have to do is get some scale RC aircraft hinges... and counter sink the mounting plates into the doors
How did you like the way she ran ?...saw a video on youtube back in Sept.. sorry couldn't find it again....the guy ran it over all kinds of obstacles .... it was very impressive...reason I had thoughts of getting one,,,glad you got one ... that way you can tell us all about it

Yes they hinged them down so they could be used as anti infantry weapons as there was not much Luftwaffe action to worry about at the wars end.

Rayzzer,
Deep breath time. We've all had these moments so lets look at the problems. The guns broken off? Get a pin vise to drill a small diameter hole in the barrel and the lower barrel at the broken spot. Use a track pin and some CA in the drill hole at either end to put your barrels back together. A little paint and you'll never know that they were broken. The Servos? Look at the types and copy the info and go online and buy the same size housing but stronger versions. The board? That's a bigger problem but talk to Eddyk about his Kubelwagen that he wired up using a HL RX-18. Odds are that the same thing will work for this as will an IBU2 or Clark board. You'll wind up with a better runner when all is said and done.

hi painless , ye the reseaver bored is problem its now putting out 10.5 volts to the servo in quad mount , not good ' it still fires i modelled new barrels an fitted yellow L"E"Ds thay good and still have rotation just no longer up or down replaced steering servo all works now ,, the gun problem is deeper in the reseaver bored ''now do i go all out an change to clark or just put up with the no up down ''i thought about RX - 18 but there's no servo communication so thats that ,, regards ray,

fynsdad wrote:El-mod make a board for the M16 but it's not cheap. If you're not worried about the guns you could just get a cheap RC car esc and set it up with that

thanks for that she running now fixed steering servo with new one , so main functions ar ok '' just something gone south in the reseaver bored for the guns to go up or down putting out 10.5 volts not good 'thanks again ,

Rayzzer,
I'll be honest, myself, if El-Mod had a board specifically for the M16, I would plunk down the cash and go with it and make a real runner out of the half track. The rationale would be that this board would be made with the M16 in mind and have sounds, servo connections, etc ready for plug and play. That's me, mileage may vary, *chuckles* Whichever way you go, try to have fun with it. You're making it into a better model and will be much happier with it in the long run.
