Morning, Doc,
You are fine, Sir. Nothing has been corrected on that Tiger save for the mantlet and barrel recoil. It is one of the early Heng Longs and only received minimal attention at the time. That is the reason for the post. To ask to see if I should leave it be or attempt a serious Upgrade into a correct early Afrika Corp Tiger 1? The American tanker was a gift from Sassgrunt to go with my current Sherman build. All I have done to him is fix his eyebrows and give him a canteen.
regards,
Painless

Quite honestly Painless, I originally bought the hull for my other mid prod Tiger, but it was on back order for so long, I couldn't wait for it to arrive before I just went ahead and finished it with the metal parts I had between the 3 tanks here. I am still up in the air as well. Thus, it just sits in my little area.
I'm not touching it until I get the T26 finished for battle. Like I mentioned before, I still need another Allied tank. I am leaning towards the M10 Ersatz as a way to make that happen in a twisted sort of way.

Pale,
I hear you. I have a KV-2 to undertake and a re do on my M4A1 before I look at anything Tiger related in the way of actual work. It is fun to daydream tho'. ;o)

Ah... Good to hear....I've had thoughts of redoing my Tiger as well... but after seeing what Heng Long did to improve upon the old molds... I tossed the idea out... figuring the same as you... restructuring the Upper Hull to me is the biggest thing on the Heng Long... changing to the Asiatam lower... and changing the electricals... will give it better performance...but not change anything that is off with the old upper Hull...PainlessWolf wrote:Good evening,

Alpha, The KV-2 is definitely first, followed by a redo of Joe's M4A1, then something Tiger 1 related is definitely going to have to happen. ;o) Either an upgrade or a new one altogether.

Thus requiring a replacement or total mod ....
From a practical standpoint...pretty much the way I evaluate a mod... and taking in what you have suggested as a plan... to me... it would be better to leave this one alone... as one of your historical builds... and just build a new one from the bottom up...and just change this one to a 2.4
But first... feed that crew.. before they shoot an access hole in your icebox

Alpha,
Thank you. Your thoughts pretty much align with mine on the matter. Minor electrical upgrade to improve the functionality (2.4 Ghz set) The new Tigers are _so new_ in terms of molds and suspension that they should be approached as a stand alone and complete build.

To be more honest Painless... I'm kind of tired seeing Tiger modsPainlessWolf wrote:Alpha,

I would tend to agree Painless. I don't think you would have very much at all of your original Tiger left if you were to modify this one. The add ons would probably cost nearly as much if not more than buying one of the newer casting Tigers. I would leave this one be, and start on a fresh hull.

Red,
Thank you, Sir. A more accurate and fun ready one will be in the works one month here soon.
