The new one sound like a good buy... since I got rid of mine eons ago... I was tempted even though I had no idea they had made any changes... but remembering it was kind of a small tank... I opted for the larger version...to which I feel was worth the wait as well as every pennyPainlessWolf wrote:Alpha,
Aye. Heng Long lists this Sherman now as the 3841-01 Mine is the elder 3841 from almost a decade ago. Still runs strong. I have had to replace the tracks and rechargable 4.7 battery, I just ordered another set of tracks off of Ebay so parts are still available. These new tracks have to have a center guide horn removed since the road wheels and idlers are center grooved now so that is a tiny bit of a pita. I have an old thread detailing that fun from the last time the tracks let go on the forum here. Panther should have fun modeling his once he finds it and should look around for an older 3841 like mine to get the more accurate running gear off of it. I cut down the barrel on mine and added a brass sleeve. Also, I added a .50 cal and turret detail antenna and touched up the paint. This tank can be made to look much better than out of the box. Interesting note. The road wheels on the 1/30 are the same sort of hollow backed ones that are on the new M4A3. I speculated when I first saw the adverts for the new Heng Long Sherman that they had scaled up their existing 1/30 M4A3. *chuckles* Godzilla? Oh Yeah! I have a few. That one is the uber articulated version from a couple of years ago.
warm regards,
