I am messing with Zim created with a solder gun. Here is a test sample. Thoughts, critics? Thanks!

Pale,
This one, the zimmerit experts will have to log in on. I personally like the hand applied look you have achieved.

Painless

Thanks for chiming in Painless. I like the look of the other as well. I had seen it somewhere else performed with the solder iron. I figured I could try it on a scrap and see. One of the things that I have concern about is reducing the appearance of some thickness to the armor by using this method.

Re: Trio of Tigers...what to do...
Here ya go CZY. All I did was use car stock to wrap around the plastic sphere that I used for the mg. I just calculated the size of the hole on the back side to get the right amount of tension on it. I used a tapered reamer to hone it out just right. Then I glued it behind the ball I used on the MG.
I also started to mess with the Zim tonight using white Miliput.

Ah...No bother really. Nothing but time. I made roller tool to make the marks, but was not happy with how fast it loaded up with the Miliput, even with a ton of water. I may have had to add soap to it. Will try it again this eve.

Of the two I think the miliput has a better look to it.

I have to agree with scalawag. milliput looks nice
but when I tried it using an old motor gear cog.
I was quite dubious so scuffed up a scrap piece of plastic & applied it to that.
it looked pretty good
so I left it for a day & bent the plastic a little to see how strong it was.
it broke off in one lump
leaving a clean piece of Perspex
so I bottled it!
good luck with your's.
