EddyK,

I think you have one of those old school ATRC that needs to be directly wired onto the RX-18 with a POS+, NEG- and a signal which is the green wire. So in theory anyway it should be the CN3 plug PIN1/2/3 (1 is POS+, 2 is Trigger Signal and 3 is NEG-). However, I don't recall seeing and certainly have to try it personally. Unless someone has figure out the board layout of the Taigen MFU, the only option you have is to double tap CN3 since you would have a 5 PIN connector into it already for your flash and recoil trigger.

There's one way to tell, measure the draw at the battery with the tank on. Disconnect the fan and use a vom measure the difference. That, or measure the drop at the battery with only the fan attached, connected and disconnected.

rctanksaustralia ATRC (SMD) works with Taigen, HL 27MHz systems from my frustrated experience. The HL2.4 the ATRC will have a delayed action, track recoil jerk then a all drive is dead/pause. I will be trying the new 2014 HL 2.4 soon, the latest HL KT is on it way from China as I type, fingers crossed.

For the reverse lights if you don't have the correct JST (smaller then the normal HL) plug/contacts/crimpers, you could just slider a pig tail using a servo cable directly to the pins or the bottom as it is a thru hole connector.

IR battling note: Taigen, HL and Tam are not compatible with each out of the box. Taigen and HL can be made compatible via products at rctanksaustralia.

Another note about the fan on the Taigen, it spins faster/moves more air at these tank's V+ compared to the same sized PC (12V+) fan. Note to self: need to source these. Also they are fragile, don't try to save the MFU box when trying to remove :{
