it is an object, but it is possible to build the Porsche Tiger also scratch.

But then I would use the aluminum tank by Christian Ludwig and the roller carriage and other parts of Asiatam drive and build the structure of plastic itself.

Everything else is much more expensive, or has nothing to do with this tank, just as the extraordinary drive makes up a large part of the character of this vehicle.

Hello Edwin... How good are those Asiatam systems... what comprises them.... I see a lot of videos mention them... but they aren't all that specific... I assume it's a recoil system

Right now the way I attack a project ...I assess the tank... taking into consideration the condition.... and what purpose they will serve in my collection...then the cost... I don't like to go overboard... as it is quite easy to do...Doing the Porsche would definitely mean it would be one of the more pricey builds ... reason I am currently attempting a chaffee ...one to see if I still possess the patience and skill to complete it... so far ..... It hasn't been to bad... but that's only because the majority of the parts are from derelict kits...so so far have put maybe 20.00 into the build lol

Thanks for the advice .... Have you tried building one?....the major problem for me about that tank is the TRACK DROOP...it has to be maintained... so it wouldn't be a very mobile model... probably good for show .... or battles where speed isn't a factor... as i could see how the tracks could get jammed in the fenders ... It's the one thing i did notice in the video..... the guy never took it up to any kind of speed ...but stuck to slow maneuvering

Which could mean...the tank itself ... is as unpractical as the real one was ...and the last thing I want.... to build is a shelf sitter ;)

Thanks again for the advise Edwin

Probably wouldn't take much to do you would need an Elefant doner tank for the running gear and a Tiger 1 turret and you would be almost there.

Hi ALPHA,

a Porsche Tiger I have not had in hand, but have rebuilt several elephants indeed have the same drive.

The problem of this tank is usually the drive and the drive. To really drive well in the area I have always incorporated a Christian Ludwig Asiatam tray with roller runner and a correspondingly high gear. In addition one must also significantly improve the storage of the roller runner in the tub.

It is a very complicated and costly armor if you want to have a good driving model and certainly not suitable for entry, because you have to improve a lot.
However, it has a rare and unusual model when everything is ready and it works.

regards Edwin

Hi ALPHA,

I have even a link to one of my Buildingreports as I drive retrofits einens Hooben Elefant here. This has the same drive as the Porsche Tiger.

However, this is in German. With the Google Translate You should be able to read it but

Hello Tankmad...
Yes i agree.. but there lay the problem...after seeing that video a month or so ago... I started looking for an elephant kit ...They're pretty scarce and being a newb to the Hobby... was disappointed to find Hooben only does tanks in limited production >:< ...so unless I can find one "used" ... another alternative will have to be found :D

Hello again Edwin... So asiatam is a drive system .....I now understand where you are coming from... yes I do think the rollers might be needed for that thing to operate smoothly

I still am wondering about that track droop though... did the Elephants you worked on ever have a problem with the track jamming in the fenders ?

Hi Alpha

when one builds the drive so that the car can not roll more than beat , the Scent of the chain is exactly right and the chain can be stuck to any part of Hul it works quite well . But one must make conscious that this system did not work in the original well and caused problems , since the chain grinds also the original anywhere on the tub and the chain plates when driving. At the chain plates , the original and special deflector has therefore on the slides the chain . What often happens , however especially in Hooben that the cam roller runner happy to hit the road and block the chain.

What I am saying here is basically that of the Porsche Tiger Asiatam is not bad. But it must be clear to everyone that he is buying a full metal model which nich much needed work if you want to drive it really well and you should have experience in the construction of such models . This is not a model for anyone who has not as yet done anything . For a rounder , it is a satisfying challenge it.

Thanks again Edwin  ... Very prophetic....I agree totally... it isn't a project to enter into blindly...It'll be awhile before I try it for sure ...as I have to get a better understanding of the running systems available for these tanks
