you sound way above my level of Rc modelling...especially with that Tamiya Leopard ....I've heard they are pretty challenging to build... I wish i had the patience

One thing i've found... this site has sooo much information... and people willing to help you

I'm new as well... and have found the experience here inspiring... Hope you enjoy yourself as well

@ Painless Wolf: Thanks mate! I most certainly want to document this as it is the most outlandish rc I have ever built! I just have to remember to snap pics and try not to get so immersed in the build!

@blimp: Thank you so much for your advice! If I buy a cheapy airbrush and compressor combo
is there any "must haves" for spraying? Like specs and things that are detrimental to painting a tank?

Hey there Neil.... The question that lay at hand (when it comes to Rc tankery) How far is too far ?? I started with a PanzerIII and a Panther... I guess things might have got out of hand after that ....But I cannot tell you how relaxing this hobby is... especially because the nature of the TANK .... just like you I've dabbled in other types of RC....but in most cases... you really had to be on the ball ....one run away glance ... or diversion ... could lead to a world of repairs

With a tank... you could dose off... and it would be OK ....almost like a pet.... it'll just sit there idling .. and wait for you

I do admire your bravery in taking on that Tamiya....I can't even imagine the point where testing comes into play... and probably the reason i stay away from those models ...Even though there are a couple of Tamiyas i wouldn't mind acquiring

I shouldn't talk though... since being here I've been inspired to kitbash a CHAFFEE.. ... that.. while still having two other builds on my workbench

One thing for sure... it's a lot more fun knowing there are others out there that have the same drive

@ALPHA: Haha so what you are saying is I am going to be in for the long haul then? One is not enough
I thought most of it would be like Tamiya's trucks and screw together, but now I understand why there was always a static version of these tanks
hence why there is a lot of gluing. But I am ok with that, it will be fun. Just like building models and customising with styrene, but I get a huge mother of a tank to
patrol the neighbourhood with after hehe You sound like you have a fair bit to keep you going ALPHA, I understand, I always have RC projects on the go!

@blimp: 70 quid is nice, but by the time I get one shipped over here it would work out close to the same, and the guy who sells them here is 2 streets over
which would make it easy come pick up or should there be a warranty issue. If there is another combo you would recommend I am all ears, that's just the cheapest/closest one I found. I seriously have no idea what I would need. Thanks again for your help!
