Re: 1/16 LCM 3 build
Hi Crispy.
The motors, electrics, props and a few other items we bought, the rest is scratch mainly from throw away or scrapped stuff.
I used my lateral thinking head a lot in those days.
When I do the sketches I will say bought or scratch.

Re: 1/16 LCM 3 build
Thanks.
Almost finished the main hull now. I'm pleased with the gentle curves I've got at the bow and the stern just by trimming and sanding the front and rear sloping boards.
I wasn't sure if the inner ply lining the tank deck would look too thick at 4mm but I think it should be ok.
The last bits of ply I need to cut will be the floor of the tank deck and I need 2 sheets glued onto the transom (is that the right term) so I can sand the curved corners into it. Then I'll use plasticard to make the upper deck and along the sides of the tank deck, that'll make detailing easier for me.

Doesn't look much different but I've stripped and glued n screwed in back together and added 2 layers of ply at the stern so I can round off the corners once it's dried.
I can already feel how much more solid it is since adding the glue! Next I need to order some plasticard, motors, propshafts, couplings and propellers!

Brilliant build brov.
I still give it two minutes in the water before the wood swells up and looks like this though!
