Hello gentlemen.. I am new here.. And stumbled upon this site as i was browsing for images... I couldn't help but notice that phil ordered the heng long t34 /85 from hobbyraw.... Well so did i.. It arrived yesterday... But that is not the reason i joined
I joined to just give you all a warning about hobbyraw... As it was probably one of the worst experiences i've had with an online seller...The site itself is not approved by my spyware... And all emails have attachments which are invisible...So i would advise you all not to open them... But use your paypal site for any communication by opening a claim
I had to do that because i there were many concerns after i had started my transaction with them...Using hobbyraw's site ... I asked questions about my tracking number... As they hadn't sent me one...They didn't answer ...I then asked again three times...They finally gave me one.. That was supposed to connect to china air.... Turns out it didn't work.... I then inquired ..Yes more than three time... Why it confirmation number didn't work... No reply at all

I then had to take the issue to paypal...To where they did reply..... Then saying to use the usps website to track it... Come to find out upon receiving the tank the other day...It wasn't really a confirmation number... But a customs id ...Which yes the usps does keep a record of

The bottom line is ... Hobbyraw isn't really a bad shop... But it really isn't the best shop either

Where have you ordered from and when is it due to be available?

Ian.
Sorry for jumping in tankbear...From my understanding the t34 is not in world wide distribution ... And available only in russia and china...Though i have seen listings in the uk... But ... Those listings are always labeled with "out of stock" or "stock low" which translated meant they didn't have it

Hobbyraw is a tricky operation... I found them on ebay... Where they had the tank for 250.00us + shipping...On the listing towards the bottom they offer a discount and to contact them
Long story short... I did ... And was redirected to hobbyraw... Where the tank was 50.00 off....And believe me it was a risky decision to jump on it
Seems they really don't want to do much business on ebay...Ebay is just a place for them to "advertise" their items bait you to their site

I can't say the transaction turned out badly... But i was worried it might ;)

Apologies for writing in caps... I have very poor up close vision.. It's just more comfortable for me to write this way

Yes the clearance on the t34 isn't as accurate as the trumpetter ... But i assume heng long did it so they could fit their drives ... It doesn't look all that bad... It's still a good looking tank...Unless you are a real stickler for the detail... Because the change in the lower hull did mean heng long changed the upper hull a little as well... If you do purchase this tank you will notice the difference in the fender height .. In the front next to the driver's port

The only criticism i might have is that it isn't your normal heng long upper line tank... The transmitter doesn't have a retractable antenna ..It's completely sealed and the port where the antenna normally screws into... Has a black nub
Also it doesn't have a accessible crystal

Oh... It also doesn't have a commander figure

They say it's in stock.
So does that mean it's been released?
Hello fiend ...
I think at the moment the t34 according to the box is a special limited release....Apparently there has been a short run of the full metal versions.. Which i could not find... Not even at hobbyraw...They listed it.. But it was sold out

Hobbyraw's listing on ebay... Says they only have two... When i last looked...The listing had changed to one..I wouldn't be sure if the one i got constituted the change as i didn't purchase it through ebay .. The price was way too high ... But it did illustrate they didn't have too many....So i do think it is limited

So if you want it...I'd say buy it... But.. Be very careful ... Make sure you have your bases covered..And by all means don't communicate with hobbyraw with your email account

For a heng long.. Yes ...it is.. But at least if you know the heng long product... Especially the newer tanks like the m4 sherman and stug iii the quality and value is there

the only hitch i had with the new versions with all the upgrades is that on the axis models...you have to be very careful about the tension on the tracks...i had to upgrade to metal tensioners on the stug... In it's stock form the metal tracks were to tight ..and with no spare links provided no way to get them properly set without the addition

the symptom on the stugiii... Were that you could almost hear the gears grinding... And the tank wouldn't track straight even with trims set...but once the mod was added... Ran smooth as silk :d

You don't need crystals or antenna with 2.4gig

Hi there phil... You are the man lol... I've seen some of your mods.. And what you've already done to your t34 ... I sit in awe

yeah that transmitter caught me by surprise... I'm still young to the rc tankery world .. So i was pretty used to seeing a hole for the antenna lol
the lack of crystal was also a surprise... Thanks for the clarification

in some way i like the lack of antenna... It's so much easier to maneuver around without the antenna catching on something lollers
i don't see how the 2.4 giggers can go without crystals ... Say if were we on the same battlefield ... How could two of them run at the same time ?

Alas no.
Just the standard bb firing thing.
Although a metal one wouldn't really interest me
