, So apologies to any seasoned tankers out there that read my post, spat their tea while shaking a fist thinking, "great another noob with deep pockets!" I have a budget of £100, so Option 1 is for me, thank you Rob.
I may have given some wrong impressions, what I am most looking forward to is the customisation of the actual model, I have had a play with photo etched brass from 1/35 to 1/350 for several years, so finding these 1/16 for around £100 (huge scale to me for the money) is honestly unbelievable, lucky for me I never sell things (modellers instinct??
) so I have a Dremmel, spray gun, compressor, most if not all hand tools, soldering equipment all standing by. As for RC history, I started in 86 with a Tamiya lancia rally, then this spread to a heli, plane, several monster trucks, then 1/10th off road racing for several years, In 2000 got into 1/10th electric indoor touring cars. Thanks for the warning, I think I understand deep pockets, is that when you find yourself standing in your local hobby shop, paying more for those "essential upgrades" than you did on the original model???
The thing I have most of all is time, I am long term ill, and have several more months before returning to work (hopefully as I'm starting to believe day time tv
) So £100 seemed reasonable for my sanity and hopefully several weeks of tinkering, but I had never considered the second hand market, thanks for the heads up, but being my first Tank I fancy a new one, I like this forums approach to avoiding certain sellers, wish the VW forum I belong to had this approach, (could of save me some pennies) I tried my local hobby shop, but they have been honest to say they cannot help, so yes, I most likely will be using one of the above mentioned.
So that's a bit more about where I going with this, I'll be taking option 1 for the time being with a lot of tinkering, and hopefully one day I may take option 3.
