More progress on the turret, few scratch build bits and some from the tin-ternet!

Only had red primer, works OK and good to see it one colour.

First coat of green and still wet, lucky with the weather yesterday very warm for Sept.
Image

Still more things to do like spot light lens and LED.
Image

Funny how the colour changes under my LED lamp compared with the evening sun in the previous pictures.

I think I spent more time on the tools than the turret! more details to follow, just receive some mini fans for my smoke unit, I've taken the pump motor and gears out (going free if anyone wants them) and drilled a hole just before the inlet and placed a fan on top. This works really well although you don't get the pump action it doesn't matter with the Sherman as by the time it goes through the defusers and the movement of the tank it looks OK.

Next hull machine gun -

More hull detail and what Reg decals to get, any suggestion for this would be appreciated.

My HL Panther is looking neglected ..poor thing!

Good Morning,
That's one sweet Sherman, Phil! All those metal add-ons and the springs on the aerials and hatch really help it come alive. The tools are gorgeous as is the cast texture on the turret. ;o) Are you planning to light up the Searchlight since you are putting a lens in it? As for your Panther, don't worry, I'm paying enough attention to mine for both of ours. *laughs* *rubs aching fingers*
regards,
Painless Wolf

Yes I'm planning to light up the Searchlight, should have done it before I built the turret but it will be a case of drill hole and poke wires through then solder led to end, think I have a lens the right size from one of my 1/24 scale slot cars somewhere.

Thanks for for comments.

Just looked at 'yet another Sherman' thread and I'm liking the T74 tracks, my HL tracks are hollow on the inside… humm now do I get some? @)

Does anyone how much they are?

cheers

Small detail added, I was going to gut off the plastic ring and replace, but decided to drill holes and add wire, glue the snip.

More work, welds round deck items and front of the hull.

Barrel clamp and cover detail

Tools glued in place, just need to blend the traps when the oil paint dries a bit more.

Turret hull in place, more work to be done looking much more like a Sherman.

Good Afternoon,
Paint along with the detail brings your Sherman solidly into reality, Phil. Two thumbs and two big toes up!
