I have to add a vote for the free ' Audacity' program for cutting and extending music and sounds.......( I will just put on my anorak now ) and say that I took a 5 second clip of the 'Dalek Control Room Heartbeat Sound' and multiplied and spliced to together to make about 2 continuous hours of it.....sad but true,

The program shows the play the sounds both audibly and in a visual format and it is easier to cut the sounds when you can actually see them !
