What sound card are you using so it sounds like a turbine start-up?

It's the IBU2 (Italian Battle Unit) which has user changeable sounds.

Hi 1942sherman,

In the base there was a lot of fixing posts unused.

So with pliers I snapped the small ones off, then filed the edge flat. fixed to the turret turn motor box with the screws, then super glued the posts and held the turret turn in position. If I remember correctly only needed to do 2 posts as I could reuse one of the originals.

Ian.

G'day Ian
Thanks for the reply that's what I did but was unsure the super glue would hold but it seems to be strong
cheers

After the success of the servo turret turn conversion on the pz4 I thought I try it on the Abrams.

First I timed the existing HL turret turn for 1 full turn. 30 seconds one way 22 other way.

Quite easy installation

Timed 1 full turn and now down to 6-7 seconds and that isn't even on the fastest setting!

Only downside is because the Abrams is shallow inside the servo clashed with the position of the IBU2 so I have to relocate that which needs some rewiring in the tank, but worth it for the improved turret turn.

So..Am I right in saying with a clark board the rotation was 12 seconds/per full turn but with an IBU it was 22-30 seconds?????

Yeah the Clark must of been over powering it as it burnt the motor out. Original had a blue cap motor, but when I switched to IBU2 I also changed the turret motor gearbox (this motor had a black cap) so maybe that was causing the slow action ???

Come to think of it my Leopard isn't that slow must of been a dodgy unit I fitted. :{
