Hi ,
Mostly a Good Outcome from a very nasty situation !!..................and have a great holiday !!
Its difficult to tell if its the Chinese Vendors fault or DHL....In my opinion its
DHL and rather unfortunately the Chinese vendor just lost money...Hopefully
THEY can claim back off DHL for effectively 'Vandalising' your parcel and then having the cheek to include a letter charging YOU for doing it.
As a thought, since the Chinese Vendor sounded so decent about the initial complaint why not contact them and offer to scan them a copy of the DHL letter ??.....It might help THEM to get their money back from DHL.............
If you are buying from a vendor then Paypal or a credit card are ALWAYS your best options. With them you have in effect a 'protective shield' that prettty much guarantees your money. A credit card acts as your 'Agent' and so you are FULLY COVERED even if say its an expensive holiday and the company that you booked with goes bust....You Still get your money back.
