sorry I do not know how to put a link but if you go oline and goggle Hobby's model catoluge they have an online cat. or W.H. smiths sell the catoluge. I used the 90' boxes with a RC boat universal connector and then they sell a 440 0r 540 motor with a pile gearbox that you can select a gear ratio of 1:4, 1:20, 1: 48 & 1:110 depending on what you wanted. If I can find it I'll try to find my old catologue and get a part no. I used to do a lot of scratch building and sometimes it pays to think "out of the box" for a solution. Another solution might be to get an old RC car that had 4 wheel drive ie. 2 diff units connected by a belt. These diff units are about 25mm x 25mm x 30mm. Input is by a metal universal shaft and the output is also by a 2 metal U/J shafts. Have a single motor gearbox to drive input. and then use a servo to operate a simple friction brake on each shaft for steering. hope you find a solution regards denzil

There was a guy on the Eagle Transporter Forum who did studio scale drawings, I used these, scaled them down to fit 1/16 then remade all the greebles from using internet references etc.

Never again its a nightmare of a shape to model correctly. Currently also working on the Battletank from Terrahwaks which is much easier as its all straight edges!

One thought for the drive (depending on how much room you have) is one of the 1:30 scale Heng Long models, which are little over 10cm wide over all, and do about 5-10MPH with a good deal of power, just a thought

Ok thanks that's a really good idea. I'm going to start on the chassis in earnest next week as the body shell is almost complete at last. Just a few more greebles and its done!

Ok think I have solved it but I'm one step away and need some help. Look at the photo, by mounting one gearbox above another I'm almost there but still a bit too wide, what I need is a gearbox with shorter shafts. Is there such a thing, these I have are from the Pershing, are the panzer ones shorter and do they also have the notch for the sprocket to go onto?

I have half an idea, why not shorten the gear box shafts yourself? Sorry if that sounds totally daft, im still new to this XD
