Stu, the guy in the model shop was talking bollocks I have heard a few different reasons why we don't get rattle cans hear in England but the real reason is that the wording on the can is wrong/doesn't meet EEC standards all they do in Europe is add a sticky label to the can in England this is not acceptable and that is why we don't get the cans, I will be going back to Belgium but this wont be until March and the exchange rate is not good other than that they are freely available I brought some of the much requested sand colour back for a guy

Maybe the labels were faulty because they didn't have a "Contains carcinogenics" warning on it.

It's down to the label which is stuck to the outside of the cellophane wrapper this is removed to use the paint and as England is the blame capital of the world there is a very high chance that some idiot will walk into the local solicitors with camo paint around his nose complaining of hallucinations from the can without proper warning's the idiot will walk away with a very large cheque several months latter to spend on drugs, in Europe they don't have the same culture if the same idiot tried that in other country's he would probably end up either in the slammer or coming out of the station on the end of a coppers boot also some of these European countries are very tough on carcinogenic toxins so wouldn't allow them in the country

God help us. We seem to have laws to protect idiots, so much for natural selection.
Reminds me of something my dad told me.
He used to work for the electricity board as a linesman on the pylons. They had to put barbwire round the legs of the pylons to stop people climbing them because if somebody did climd one and they injured themselves then they could sue the Electricity board for not making the pylon secure.
On the continent if someone climbs a plyon and survives then the electricity can sue them for trespass

and you still get the idiots who dig up 2KV lines and try to cut through them for the copper when there is a black out they usually find a pair of smoking shoes where the said idiot once stood then you guessed it him other half and 9 kids got to the solicitors for a nice fat pay out and the best bit is they get it.
