1:16 Mk.IV Male WW1 Tank

Post by FV4201 »

Hello everyone,

As mentioned in another thread, one of my biggest ambitions is to have a WW1 rc tank in a large scale so whilst Mk1 Nut works on the 1/6 scale monster I have had an idea to attempt a Mk.IV Male in 1:16.

I have not got much to show at the minute but certain aspects like tracks will not be 100% accurate but for now I will concentrate on getting the tank designed built and running first but thinking about it the tracks should be the only inaccuracy.

So this is the project announcement hope to have it running for 2014.

Hiya,

Can't wait to see how you get on... you can never have to many world war one tanks. :)

There is an absolutely gorgeous MKIV build on Landships. The guy used pcb board, which is just a fantastic idea, as you can glue it with epoxy and also solder the small brass bits on to it. THe guy is an ex-jewelry maker, so his metal working is to die for. Here's the link... http://landships.activeboard.com/t52914 ... 116-scale/

Hi Christopher,

I'm looking forward to your Mark IV in 1:16

This is the fourth in this scale that I know if, and only one has been completed to date.

regards Edwin

Current status is as follows, I have scaled up measurements of the tank from a 1/35 model and will proceed from there to a cardboard template.
