Tamiya Tiger 1 question

Hi all,

I was just looking at Tamiya's tiger 1 and was wondering if anyone knows if the frontal armour plate with the drivers view port from the Tamiya kit will fit the Heng Long Tiger without too much alteration?

I prefer the more accurate machine gun mount and drivers open hatch, and this is the cheaper option than replacing the upper hull.

Has anyone else tried this?

Hi Ghost.

I think you are just after the front glacis plate.

The Tamiya parts will fit - although maybe a little too wide. You can buy the sprue with all the right parts from ebay - usually from Japanese sellers.

I found a few on Ebay, not cheap, but much better looking than the standard heng long glacis. I guess I can cut it down and filler any gaps.

For anyone else who is interested in doing the same. The parts needed for the entire glacis are:

C parts 0005791
D parts 0005792
E parts 0005793 x2 (this annoyingly is just for 2 tiny wing nut clasps for the hull machine gun cover - you could probably get these elsewhere cheaper or make them)
