Recoil, flash unit & barrel elevation motor.
Hello! Can a recoil unit be fitted with the 2.4ghz upgrade. Has anyone managed to reduce the turret storage bin on the Panzer III and still fit the barrel elevation motor?

Re: Recoil, flash unit & barrel elevation motor.
The Taigen 2.4Ghz is a swap in/out with RX-18 and will work with the stock HL reocil and the Asiatam recoil which both are available to the Panzer III I believe. Asiatam unit has the built-in elevation with the recoil unit so it might be your best bet. I don't have a Panzer III but I know Panzer IV's turret storage bin is external to the turret and doesn't affect the interior space.
Re: Recoil, flash unit & barrel elevation motor.
But You'll need high voltage gun flash unit. In rctank.de is written about Taigen 2,4 GHz kit: The flash will only work properly with our stronger flash unit, not with the original HL flash.
And it's true - I upgrade my IR tanks with this kit and barrel flash LED wasn't working.

Re: Recoil, flash unit & barrel elevation motor.
Thanks for the advice! I'm a couple of weeks off starting on the turret so i will use the time to track down a high voltage recoil and flash unit!

ska2d2, this is one of the best deal in town/country/world, Asiatam Recoil + High Intensity flash. You don't need the Tiger mantel but the rest would normally cost you way more.

And its from WDM so you know it will be good service all the way !

Re: Recoil, flash unit & barrel elevation motor.
Can i ask, is it a straight forward swap+if i'm doing away with the mantle will an upgraded Panzer III barrel just slot into the recoil unit?

Re: Recoil, flash unit & barrel elevation motor.
The barrel connector that comes with it will fit the standard BB and the stock recoil IR barrel but that's it. If upgraded barrel means the scaled metal version then it will be too skinny and maybe too short. You might need an adapter and/or padded up the scaled barrel for it to work. Also, you will need to remove the bracket from the recoil unit for it to fit the Panzer III turret since the metal bracket is fitted for the Tiger Is. If you ask for the install instructions from Steve I think what you get is actually the old install which is on a Panzer III.
I would upgrade the electronics to Taigen 2.4Ghz first, make sure everything is working like it should be, and then work on the Asiatam recoil and hige intensity flash. The recoil is much more relastic than the standard HL ones, and the flash is also much stronger. The only real downside is that you will get a reduce elevation as the Asiatam unit is a combo (elevation and recoil). You won't need the stock elevation unit anymore either.

Re: Recoil, flash unit & barrel elevation motor.
Will the 'Tank Modellbau" recoiling barrel not fit?
Re: Recoil, flash unit & barrel elevation motor.
As long they say recoiling it will work. I noticed that on the WDM site some of them has recoiling in the description and some of them don't. Obviously if it says with work with Asiatam recoil would be great but as far as I know it will work with the HL recoiling barrels as well.

Thanks Mike!
