27mhz-2.4ghz

Post by jarndice »

Someone must have asked this question before, I cannot find it so forgive me for asking again, I wish to fit a clarkT22 board to a Heng Long Panzer 4 and at the same time change it from 27mhz to 2.4ghz, how easy or hard is it please?
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

TK-22 will work with most 2.4Ghz hobby grade receivers and radios so it is really part of the whole upgrade. Easier if you already have a 2.4 Ghz radio set-up. If not, TK-22, receiver and radio would run you about $200 US/Cdn.

Michael my hero, forgive my dullness but are you saying that by fitting a Clark TK22 board, just using a 2.4 ghz transmitter will do the job? It seems far to easy, Its my cynical nature you know. shaun

I just upgraded a Tiger I and a Pershing from Taigen/MAKO combo to TK-22 with Turnigy 9x receiver and radio and it was pretty straight forward. The RX-18 to Taigen was obviously easier since it is literally unplugging and plugging. You do have to do some rewiring to TK-22 but that's just clark and has nothing to do with going from 27Mhz to 2.4Ghz. (i.e. Individual up and down control for the elevation, HL/Taimya recoil and/or servo recoil and the IR emitter).

You will need to have the ER9x programming loaded up on your transmitter though. If you pick up a package from say from Curtis from Immortals he would have programmed it for you (i.e. TK-22 + 2.4 Ghz receiver + 2.4 Ghz radio)
