If you push the left stick up on the rx18 it should fire like the k button. I think the k button is from the older rx13 and rx14 (heng long didn't change transmitters)madmonk25 wrote:on the analog one i press the button at the bottom of the handset. on the Digital handset you press the left stick up and the it firesstrmnd54 wrote:On your video of the RX-18 ( the one you call analog set up) ; were you using the upper left controller to fire the main gun , or did you use the " K " switch on the transmittermadmonk25 wrote:hi steve here are two videos of my tank. one with the digital set up. and one were i rigged up the analog set up. as you can see the are no issues with the analog set up. but as you can see there is with the digital set up. http://youtu.be/vHE5qqljoXw http://youtu.be/PD9OQEECwLU

hi did not know that. now using the new handset and theres know buttons on this one just press up to fire and thats it. to start up the tank you have a switch on the left you just flick it forwards then it start up. and then on the right switch that turns on the machine gun. then you have a trim dial and thats it.

On mine I fire the BB's by pushing the left stick up, if I press the "K" button it gives the main gun firing noise and the tank recoils, you can modify the RX18 board to make both happen at the same time with the left stick, but it does not do both as standard.Tankbear wrote: If you push the left stick up on the rx18 it should fire like the k button. Out of my five heng long tanks i have if you push left stick up it will fire the BB gun or recoil and do track recoil and sound. That is why there is a small contact switch on the BB or recoil unit when the BB gun fires it makes contact and sends signal to the rx18 to make sound and track recoil.jonger wrote:On mine I fire the BB's by pushing the left stick up, if I press the "K" button it gives the main gun firing noise and the tank recoils, you can modify the RX18 board to make both happen at the same time with the left stick, but it does not do both as standard.Tankbear wrote: If you push the left stick up on the rx18 it should fire like the k button. There is no need to mod the transmitter as it should come completely wired to do this from the factory.

This is why the " K " switch has become useless and is not featured on the new 2.4 GH transmitter ....Out of my five heng long tanks i have if you push left stick up it will fire the BB gun or recoil and do track recoil and sound. That being said ; I believe that the sound of the main gun and the track recoil are still tied together on the new board ; and there will be a need for an anti-track recoil unit like on the RX-18 ...

My tanks are a year or two old and the BB guns do not have the micro switch and lead, I have recently bought a replacement BB unit and that does have the switch and lead, so its a recent change, previously you had to modify the board with a diode to get them to work together.

I must of been lucky with my tanks then as all have it already.jonger wrote: Hi Ian

Re: taigen digital up grade
so basicly from this thread am I correct to conclude that the Taigen 2.4 ghz radio basicly just upgrades the radio system? the tank sounds basicly the same in the files and the track recoil appears to present.
I would think the more cost effective RC2HL board that upgrades the RX18 to a 2.4 ghz system is way more cost effective

I ordered the taigen 2.4 Ghz last friday , at a cost of $138.33 CAD .FreakyDude wrote:so basicly from this thread am I correct to conclude that the Taigen 2.4 ghz radio basicly just upgrades the radio system? the tank sounds basicly the same in the files and the track recoil appears to present.

Although I haven't received the unit yet , at this point in time ; I have to agree with you .
It would have been around the same price , or may be cheaper to get the 2.4Ghz upgrade proposed by RCtank Australia ...
That system has the advantage of keeping the flexibility of the RX-18 ...
On the picture of the RC2HL , there's a 3 pins terminal that says " to RX-18" ; and I believe that from this terminal it would be possible to feed 2 RX-18 boards to cancel the track recoil like I did last year : http://www.rctankwarfare.co.uk/forums/v ... =33&t=7614 ..
Time will tell if I made a good move or not and I will certainly post a review of the taigen system once I get it ....

strmnd54 not that I want to rub salt in this but yes it would have been. never mind the fact I would have got the boards to you in a day lol. don't forget your only 2 hours away from me by car.
I have all the mako boards in stock for the Canadian tankers, come to think of it I am waiting for my first shipment of HK radios as well to go with this group.
