Tiger 1 full chassis upgrade RCTanke DE
Re: Tiger 1 full chassis upgrade RCTanke DE
According to Mmodell, Asiatam (not Tankzone...don't think TankZone makes anything of their own...just a reseller) will be making these for all of the WWII German tanks, including the upcoming Jagdpanther. I think the only exception will be the "PanTiger". The PzIII will probably be the next one, especially since they already have the running gear made.

hi philipat youre right they are doing metal tubs for all the range, though the p3 tub is done already, though not sure if its been released yet, they wont need to do the pantiger, it has the same tub as the tiger, personally i would buy nothing from tankzone, to much of a rip off on there prices, especially when you can get everything they sell a good bit cheaper else where

looks like just what the doctor ordered to fix the Matorro Tiger I was stupid enough to buy last month...!
Does anybody know the spec of the screws that hold the road wheels on a HL tiger? I need to get a set of taps to thread my metal swing arms...

Really...the PzIII tub is already done, just waiting to be released! (sitting with hands together and fingers drumming) hmm...looks like I may get to begin that upgrade sooner than thought. Now I just need Creeping Death to finish/release the turret.
I agree regarding Tankzone. I've pretty much identified all of their manufacturers, except one - metal tracks for Bulldog with the rubber pads. Don't know who makes that one.

that's true, but at least you get a whole load of extras for your money - spend $800 on some Tam kits, and you will still have to pay for metal tracks, the radio gear, and the TBU.
I'd sooner spend $800 over time on my HL's (not that I have come anywhere close yet!) and come out with a "full option" equivalent tank, rather than pay that in one go - but thats just me
The Tiger I in my profile cost me the following:
Non S&S Tiger on evilbay: $45
Hitec Laser 6 radio/receiver set: $134
Replacement metal gearboxes: $30
Replacement metal tracks: $80 (I forget the exact amount, but it was about there...) - rattle can from local DIY store to paint the tracks black: $3
DBCRC2 from the Blitz $145
Paints $20
Decals - came with, but call it $20 for the sake of argument
Replacement HL S&S ESC board $20

I have given up counting the costs of my tanks, because if I did the I would quit the hobby because it is getting over the £1K mark now.

a little while ago the mrs added up what i'd spent on my HL Tiger 1, and it come to £1200 give or take, that dont include the other tanks in the house, this hobby can be expensive, but its far more addictive, than expensive, you buy one tank, next thing you know, you got a whole armoured division ::) ::) ::)
